6. Freeing the Breath
Here you’ll combine two different techniques in a single session. Developing this skill will be very useful to you, since most of the tools and techniques of the Méthode Dolfino® combine easily with one another to maximize positive outcomes. The Freeing the Breath technique is therefore a hybrid of the Scanner technique and the ally technique.
Your breathing is a mirror of your inner emotional state. This technique will therefore bring you several benefits:
This technique is described within the context of guiding a third person. In self-hypnosis, follow the steps while guiding yourself.
Take care of what needs to be improved on or around the tree.
Make sure the person is comfortably settled and invite them to breathe deeply.
Here, breathing adds movement, bodily felt sense (bodily sensations), and sounds that maximize the benefits of the technique.
Is it fluid, regular, deep? What is its rhythm, and so on?
Invite the person to locate any blockages or irregularities in their breathing and have them describe them.
Use the Scanner technique to symbolize and release what is hindering the breathing.
Ask the person to call on one of their allies to support the process or to complete what needs to be done to promote the release.
Here too, making movements and sounds increases the effectiveness of the release.
While inviting the person to keep listening to their breathing, continue until it settles into exactly the rhythm that suits them, a pleasant and perfectly fluid rhythm.
A good sign of fluid breathing is noticing deep abdominal breathing.
Take the time to have the person acknowledge the state of release and well-being.
